Goodbye's Don't Truly Exsist

Have you ever had someone that means a lot to you move out of state? Recently my friends and I went throught this, and it was completely new to me.

In September of my sophomore year, my friend Clay moved to Denver as a result of a job transfer his Dad had been given. (Clay is in the green shirt). This really crushed my friend Audie who was very close to Clay, but we all did what we could to help her through. They had been best friends since the 6th grade. (I became friends with the gang in 7th). Personally, I could tell countless stories of great times with him. Including the time that he and I were texting and he casually mentioned he was on his way to the emergency room. He still had braces on at the time, and had slipped on a piece of playground equipment, severly busting his lip. He ended up going home with a face full of stitches and a really funny story to tell.

Everyone has great memories of Clay before he left, and saying "goodbye" was one of the most difficult things I have ever done. But it has also taught me something: goodbye's don't truly exsist. Over the 2011 Memorial Day weekend, Clay and his family came back to visit. Audie got a group of his friends together and we spent a few hours cherishing our rare moments with Clay and relaxing at the park.

When someone leaves, it feels like the end of the friendship. In reality, that may be true but the chances of a true friendship ending so abruptly are very slim. It's easy to let flesh emotions take control and let our hearts break but we have to remember that God is in control. So don't say goodbye, say see you later. In my book, goodbye's truly don't exsist.
